1. Introduction

This product is a 32-bit CardBus USB 2.0 Card. It provides two USB2.0 ports for the computer to connect to high speed 480Mbps USB2.0 peripherals. With its 32-bit high speed bus, this card provides high bandwidth capability to notebook PCs. This product has extension on the PC card, USB connectors are mounted on the card, so no dongle or external part needed.

4. Setup for Windows 98

  1. Make sure your PC is powered on and that you are at the Windows 98 operating system.
  2. Insert the Cardbus USB 2.0 adapter into the PCMCIA slot on your PC. The system will display the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box. Insert the "NEC USB Open Host Controller" driver diskette into floppy driver.

  3. Press "Next" button.

  1. Select "Search for the Best Driver for your device (Recommended)", press "Next" button.

  1. Select "Floppy disk drives" (or select "Specify a location" and type "A:\" in the location), then press "Next" button.

  1. Press "Next" button, the driver then installs itself. If windows require for Windows 98 source diskette, insert the CD-ROM or disks as needed, direct Windows to the proper location, and then click "OK" button.

  1. Click "Finish" to next step.

  1. Repeat step 3~7 to install "NEC USB Open Host Controller" again.
  2. Windows 98 will recognize the device again. It will show “Add New hardware Wizard”. Press "Next" button.

  1. Select "Search for the Best Driver for your device (Recommended)", press "Next" button.

  1. Select "The updated driver (Recommended) USB 2.0 Host Controller" and click "Next" button.

  1. Press "Next" button, the driver then installs itself.

  1. Click "Finish" to complete the installation process.

5. Setup for Windows 2000

  1. Make sure your PC is powered on and that you are at the Windows 2000 operating system.
  2. Insert the Cardbus USB 2.0 adapter into the PCMCIA slot on your PC. The system will display the "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box. Insert the Cardbus USB 2.0 adapter driver diskette into floppy driver and then press "Next" button.

  1. Select "Search for a suitable driver for my device (Recommended)", press "Next" button.

  1. Select "Floppy disk drives" (or select "Specify a location" and type "A:\" in the location), where the device information file (.INF file) and the driver usb2host.inf can be found.

  1. Press "Next" button, the driver then installs itself.

  1. Click "Finish" to complete the installation process.

6. Setup for Windows ME

  1. Make sure your PC is powered on and that you are under Windows ME operating system.

  2. Insert the Cardbus USB 2.0 adapter into the PCMCIA slot on your PC.  Windows ME will recognize the device. It will show “found New hardware Wizard”. Select “Automatic search for a better driver” and insert the driver diskette or CD and click "Next".

  1. Windows ME will search and recognize the driver of the Device.Then  Windows will automatically copy the driver files and related files into the system. 

  2. After copying the driver files, the device installation is completed. Click "Finish".  

7. Setup for Windows XP
  1. Make sure your PC is powered on and that you are under Windows XP operating system.

  2. Insert the Cardbus USB 2.0 adapter into the PCMCIA slot on your PC.  Windows XP will recognize the device. It will show “found New hardware Wizard”. Select “Automatic search for a better driver” and insert the driver diskette or CD and click "Next".

  1. Windows XP will search and recognize the driver of the Device, then show one message please select "Continue Anyway", then Windows will automatically copy the driver files and related files into the system. 

  1. After copying the driver files, click "Finish" to next step.  

(Some model PC may stop here or ask you to reboot your PC, you can continue next step when PC restart.)

  1. Windows XP will recognize the device again. It will show "Found New hardware Wizard". Select "Automatic search for a better driver" and click "Next".

  1. Click "Continue Anyway".

  1. After copying the driver files, the device installation is completed. Click "Finish".

8. Setup for MAC OS X

  1. Double click on OrangeUSBInstaller.pkg icon. If the installer displays the message “Administrative access is required to continue”, click on the Lock icon.

  2. You will then be prompted to enter the administrator password. If the account you are using does not have administrative access, you must enter the username and password for an account that does or you will NOT be able to install OrangeUSB EHCI support!

  3. If you have administrative access, the “Welcome to the OrangeUSB Drivers Installer” window will appear. Click on the Continue button.

  4. The “Select a Destination” dialog will appear. Select the active Mac OS X system drive, then click “Continue”.

  5. The “Easy Install” dialog will appear. Click on the “Install” button to install OrangeUSB Drivers.

  6. Click on the ”Restart” button to finish the installation, when prompted.

9. Safely Remove USB2.0 PC Card Under Windows 98/ME

(1) When you click on the "removal icon" on the task tray, a pop-up menu similar to the following will appear. Select it.

(2) When the message box saying [You may now safely remove your USB2.0 Cardbus Adapter.] appears, click [OK]. You can remove the USB2.0 PC Card from your computer.

10. Uninstall

Uninstall the driver under Windows 98/ME system

1. Go to the "Add/Remove Programs" icon under "Control Panel".

2. Select "USB 2.0 Host Driver Uninstall".

3. Make sure you want to remove the driver, and click "Yes" .

4. After removing the driver, click "OK" to Restart your computer.

Uninstall the driver under Windows 2000/XP system

1. Go to the "Add/Remove Programs" icon under "Control Panel".

2. Select "USB 2.0 Host Driver Uninstall".

3. Make sure you want to remove the driver, then click "Change/Remove".

4. After removing the driver, click "OK" to Shutdown your computer.
